    CHICAGO, IL (November five, 2007) – Tamara N. Holder, Esq., announced nowadays that Marcus Hampton, the driver in the “Severed-feet” fatality case will be formally arraigned Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Markham Courthouse of Cook County Circuit Court, 16501 South Kedzie Parkway, Markham, IL 60428. Attorney Holder will hold a news conference soon after the arraignment at 10:00 a.m. on the actions of the courthouse.

    Attorney Holder will be filing her appearance for Defendant Marcus Hampton and plead her client not guilty to all charges listed in the indictment that are expected to contain 1 count each of arson, obstruction of justice and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. Also charged are Mr. Hampton’s alleged girlfriend, Shawanda Smith and her brother, Anthony Smith, Jr.

    On Friday, October 12, 2007, Mr. Hampton was driving down a dark Vollmer Road where he accidentally hit Mr. Michael Cranston, who was walking in the street, and wearing dark clothing. Mr. Cranston had allegedly been hit on that road in the past. At this time, Attorney Holder will not comment on what happened following the accident however, it really should be noted that her client did not act alone.

    Attorney Holder did however note, “The facts as they play out will tell a diverse story from that already told. Mr. Hampton was also a victim in this case. Mr. Hampton is innocent of the charges that stem from what happened right after the accident.” Attorney Holder also states, “Mr. Hampton and his loved ones continue to express their deepest condolences to Mr. Cranston’s family”
